1 more positive tests from Yavatmal, total Vidarbha is 96

Nagpur: On Monday, a 40-year-old Yavatmalian, one of the eight reported positive COVID-19 case reports in town, which was among the high-risk contacts, tested positive. This brings to 12 the number of positive cases in COVID-19 in Yavatmal. Three patients were treated and released from these diseases.

The isolation unit of GMCH Yavatmal is currently admitted to nine patients. Seven of them come from other States (UP, West Bengal and Delhi) and two from Yavatmal. In Yavatmal from the last three days, major intensive surveillance and screening of the regions in which these successful patients used to stay is underway. More than 150 samples of swab have been obtained and analyzed. Among these, up to Monday, 104 tested negative and one tested positive.

On Monday, 154 people in GMCH Yavatmal isolation and 64 people are in institutional quarantine, 23 of them in the Girls Hostel on Dhamangaon Route and 41 in the GMCH Yavatmal Boys Hostel.

In Chandrapur laboratory?

Vijay Wadettiwar, Chandrapur Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation, and Chandrapur Minister for Desaster Management announced the establishment of a separate test laboratory in Chandrapur for COVID-19 samples. He has argued, that the coronavirus lab will be built here at the GMCH at a cost of Rs2.18 crore. He said this sum will be raised from the Chandrapur Mining Department’s Social Responsibility Fund. He said that construction on the new laboratory would commence on Tuesday. Both samples are currently being sent for testing to Nagpur of suspected coronavirus patients in Chandrapur. In Chandrapur district, health authorities have reported 47 suspected patients. Testing samples were sent to 39 patients, and 28 results were sent, all negative. There are still eleven remaining records.

Lab, Amravati Minister Yashomati Thakur, also Guardian of the Amravati, has said that Amravati will be the location of a laboratory for Covid-19. This late Monday evening, Thakur tweeted saying that she spoke in this regard already to Minister of Health Rajesh Tope and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. This laboratory is expected to start at either the Department of Microbiology at Amravati University or the Deshmukh College in Punjabrao. There are currently 113 Amravati samples to test and tests are still pending. 409 swab samples from Amravati have been submitted to date, including 271 negative, 5 positive and 10 invalid.
