Nagpur Motor Driving Schools raided to remove tax
In the latest raid on the various driving schools by the city’s Income Tax department, a couple of driver’s schools have entered its scanner.
As recorded, some GST and Service Tax invasion seemed to occur as performed by the city’s established Motor Driving Schools. According to sources, the raids that led to searches were carried out by DGGI, Nagpur Zonal Unit officers at various premises of a few driving schools, including the following.
These include the Wazalwar Driving School Pvt.Ltd located at Shivaji Nagar, Desai Driving School located at Jiwan Akshay Society, Shree Driving School, Gadge Maharaj Dharamshala located at Medical Chowk and thus one was put under the scanner.
According to sources, the suggestions for clearing their tax dues were issued to these driving colleges, and some of them have been defaulting since their inception with a few taking a toll of more than 20 years or so since they took the record.
Also, they have had issues with their receipt to a large degree and several of these are accounted for in the legislative reports by these companies as seen in their income tax returns and many other financial documents.
According to sources, there seems to be so much mess and in just the last five years they have been squeezing the Taxable value of over Rs. 10 Crore with their organizations. These involve both the GST and service tax for the above classes, which goes to about Rs. 1.86 Crore.
