Volkswagen T-Roc vs Hyundai Tucson vs jeep compass: Price Comparison
The long-awaited Volkswagen T-Roc is now officially available in India, at 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is the newest addition to the SUV lineup of car manufacturers that saw the launch of Tiguan Allspace early this month.
We were the first to tell you that the T-Roc will be launched in India in 2020, as well as our pricing forecasts. Yes, this is a fairly high price tag for the T-Roc, a completely built unit (CBU). Around the same price, VW T-Roc competes with Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.
The Jeep Compass is currently available in 4 versions, with a range from 16.49 lakh to 24.99 lakh (ex-show, Delhi) in 11 different models based on engines, transmission, and drivetrains. Jeep offers the Compass Trailhawk off-road model, which comes in two trimming modes and is priced at a total of € 26.80 lakh to € 27.60 lakh (former showroom, Delhi).
The engine choices include MultiJet II, 2,0 litres, and 1.4 litres of MultiAir fuel, all of which comply with BS6. The oil burner produces 170 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm, while the 1.4-litre petrol engine has 161 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm.
The engines are fitted with a manual with 6 speeds and an optional automatic9-speed transmission with 4×2 and 4×4 drive train options. The Compass Trailhawk is fitted with the same 2,0-liter Multijet II diesel engine but churns 168 BHP and is connected by a standard9-speed automatic gearbox.
