Forest department contributes almost Rs3cr to the CM fund

Nagpur: In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, all officials and staff in the forest department agreed to contribute the CMRF for a day and two days ‘pay.

The forest service has more than 16,000 staff and officers. Their contribution is estimated to amount to almost Rs3 crore, including 1200 employees of the State-owned Maharashtra Forest Development Corporation (FDCM).

“Our duty is to reinforce the government’s hands in the hour of the crisis in battling Covid-19,” said SC Gairola of the PCCF.

Maharashtra, the Indian Forest Service Association, agreed to contribute each one-day wages to the CM Relief Fund in March 2020. Sanjeev Gaur, IFA Secretary, allowed the PCCF to decide appropriately.

KV Bolke and NR Gawande, both president and secretary of the FRA, Maharashtra, said that the country’s economy is going through a critical stage in its release as the coronavirus crisis has led to the lockdown.

“State and central government major efforts need tremendous funds to tackle the crisis. So we agreed to send CM Relief Fund two-day March’s salary, “Gawande said.

Nagpur, the State Forestry Gazette Association of Maharashtra, has also agreed to offer a March day’s salary. Subhash Dongre called on all gazetted officials to make a generous contribution.

Ajay Patil, BJP chief, Central Chairman of the Maharashtra National Forest Guards and Forestry Union, has appealed to all employees to donate to the CM Relief Fund to combat the coronavirus in addition to that of Maharashtra State of Van Majoor and Forest Workers Union.

Pradeep Shende of the State Forestry and Social Forestry Workers ‘Union of Maharashtra claimed that all workers affiliated with the Union agreed to add a day of pay.
