Satranjipura has 80+ve and 503 cases quarantined

Nagpur:- Three more people from the town including one-and-a-half-year-old boy, who is now becoming the youngest patient in the district to date, tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday bringing the total to 127.

Two of the three are linked to the Satranjipura chain, and from this, the number of positive cases increased to 80. On Sunday, it quarantined 123 more people from Satranjipura, bringing the number to 503. In connection with the Satranjipura case, 13 people have also been arrested raising the total number of people facing action to 15.

A 37-year-old woman from Mominpura is remaining a positive person. Officials from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) told, “The one-and-a-half-year-old boy who tested positively on Sunday was already at GMCH. On Saturday his parents tested positive. The pair had kept their child with them, “they said.

Another optimistic Satranjipura individual is a 55-year-old woman who has been quarantined at MLA Hostel. She was transferred to IGGMCH. The couple and the 55-year-old woman are Satranjipura neighbors to the 68-year-old deceased. They’d been quarantined on Thursday among 150 men.

Mominpura’s 37-year-old woman was already at GMCH, too. On April 24 her five-year-old son tested positive. The woman was admitted with the boy into GMCH’s Covid-19 Isolation Ward. Her husband tested positive too.

The husband is the brother of Choodi Gully, Mominpura, a 42-year-old resident who tested positive on April 18. Twelve of the same family members had tested positive earlier. The total number of cases from this family has risen to 13 with the latest girl.

The 42-year-old was looking after seven Tablighi Jamaatis based in Jabalpur who was camping at Darul Falah, Takia Deewanshah, Mominpura. On April 12 and 13, they had tested positive, after which the individual and his family were quarantined and examined.

The total number of Mominpura cases now stands at 25.

With some of 150 residents of Satranjipura quarantined on Thursday testing positive, municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe directed the officials to track and quarantine more neighbours. The team led by Assistant Commissioner Vijay Humne and Zonal Medical Officer Dr.Minakshi Mane on Sunday took in 123 people from 21 families including 93 adults and 30 children from 5 pm to 11 pm. Samples will be taken of all individuals on Monday.

Kalamna police have reported an offense in connection with Satranjipura against 13 people. Announced on sunday that Mundhe had ordered police action against ten people who were hiding in a godown at Vijay Nagar, Kalamna.

An offense pursuant to Section 188 (disobedience to public servant), Sections 269, 270 (negligent and malignant act likely to spread life-threatening disease infection) of IPC and Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act-1897 was reported against the hiding 13 including 10, two nearby residents who were assisted in hiding and godown owner.

The 13 have women and children in it. They hid to avoid quarantine. People from Vijay Nagar spotted them and in the wee hours of Saturday told NMC and Kalamna police who were quarantining them at MLA Hostel. At Wathoda one of the family members was already in quarantine.

This is second such action linked to the case of Satranjipura with earlier booked a couple (Covid-19 positive) from Shanti Nagar and relatives of the deceased for hiding their children at Bhaldarpura. One of two children had tested positive later on as well.
