Mantralaya To remain shut after 4 positive Covid check

The premises are now due to open only on May 4, which is scheduled to end a day after the second step of the nationwide lockdown. In view of the Coronavirus-enforced lockdown, Mantralaya is currently operating with thin attendance. According to sources, top officials were ordered to work from home, and senior officials were asked to work from Sahyadri, the state guest house, for unavoidable office work.

Earlier the Maharashtra administration had barred people from entering Mantrlaya without masks. For the last two weeks, the state government has functioned on 5 percent work capacity.

The state government released an official order claiming that the citizens without masks would not be allowed into the Mantralaya. The decision also extends to all state government employees who are actually being called to come to the office, one official said.

COVID-19 in Maharashtra 729 cases of fresh novel Coronavirus were registered in Maharashtra on Tuesday, raising the overall state tally to 9,318. Mumbai remains a major COVID-19 hotspot in the State with 6,169 cases and 244 deaths. After discharging 106 patients in the day, the number of individuals recovered has risen to 1,388. The death toll of Maharashtra soared to 400 as 31 people died in the day because of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, there are currently 29,974 confirmed cases of novel Coronavirus in India out of which 7,027 people have recovered while 937 have been registered casualties.
