NMC note of an excess bill to Covid-19 patients at private hospital in Nagpur
Nagpur:- The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has informed Wockhardt Dedicated Covid Hospital (DCH), Corporation Colony, of excess charges imposed on Covid-19 patients and of a violation of the rule of a bed ratio of 80:20. One of the patients in Covid-19 allegedly had been paid with Rs7 lakh.
On Tuesday, the municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe issued a show-cause notice to the executive director/manager of the hospital asking them to respond within 24 hours. “Why not take action against you and your hospital for violations under the Infectious Diseases Act 1897, the Disaster Management Act 2005, the Maharashtra Critical Services Maintenance (Amendment ) Act 2011, the Mumbai Nursing Home (Amendment) Act 2006, the Bombay Nursing Home Act 2006 and the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950,” he said.
