Additional force to execute effective lockdown in City
Even after Prime Minister Modi declared the lockdown, the city has undergone a full shutdown. Police have been instrumental in making the lockdown effective. With fewer officers on the road, however, they seemed to have encountered difficulties in managing the crowds coming out. Despite less manpower in the area, people like the youngsters make fun and run about amid the lockout, without maintaining the city’s safe distance.
Thus Maha Police has agreed to give the lockdown in the city additional manpower. They also called for additional power from the centre to provide extra strength to keep things under control. Talking about the same Mr. Subhodh Jaiswal the DGP has asked additional forces in the state along with the town to get additional forces for the same. It is expected that the city will soon get additional PCR cans and manpower that will help maintain the city’s successful lockdown.
The special police staff has been in deployment and selection process. According to reports, there are about 2.20 lakh police personnel in the Maha Police and 10 per cent of the personnel are seen working in domains such as PCR, ACB, and CID. With the state ordering the lockdown to prevent the virus from spreading the entire police force was mobilized for lockdown operation. The Homeguard units are to be ruptured in with the extra manpower coming from other areas.
