Electric Motors to Replace Diesel Engines Early in the Central Railway
Electric Engines was the safest choice for the Indian Railways. However, given the electrification in the Central Railway, Nagpur district, a wide range of diesel engines are still in use. The decision to replace all remaining diesel engines with immediate effect was taken at the recent meeting of the top officials of Nagpur’s Central Railway in the DRM office. This has been achieved as a result of the effect of fossil fuels on the climate.
Electrical engines have no environmental impact and are more efficient compared to diesel engines that have made the officials in the Nagpur region agree to replace all remaining diesel engines with electric ones on an urgent basis. It was days when steam engines were in use in most parts of the country, including the Central Railways, Nagpur, and soon they were replaced by diesel.
Therefore, the process of replacement and reconstruction has been carried out too often in the past and is now the turn of diesel engines to be replaced by electric motors in the recent past. Nevertheless, there are still a few diesel engines left in the Nagpur Central Railway, and the last nail in the coffin is all set to be struck early, discarding the diesel engines with the electric ones. According to sources, work is likely to begin soon on the basis of adverse environmental impacts. Stay tuned to learn more about this and the others just with us.
