I want to be alive, says pregnant woman trapped in camp with ailing daughter

Nagpur: Vishakha Praful Tambore, 24, and a resident of Boda village in Tiroda tehsil of Gondia district had come to Government Medical College and Hospital here for treatment of her two-year-old daughter Alia when the lockdown was announced by the government. She and her daughter are since stuck in Nagpur.

Vishakha said that since her birth, Alia has had heart disease. A local doctor advised her to go to GMCH Nagpur to take Alia. They were in Nagpur when a complete shutdown was abruptly declared and all transport services shut down. “We were trapped in a building. Neerja, the manager who along with friend Neha Patel, an entrepreneur and few others who manage shelter camp Neerja, said that men, including Vishakha, are at risk of staying without a doctor in these camps. She said they tried a doctor because most people stay in the camp are a routine check-up
