Nagpur:- That numbers of Covid-19 cases in Amravati have led the administration to enforce lockdown-like restrictions on public movement in all five districts of the division. Most parts of the division of Amravati will follow these restrictions as from July 15.
Chandrapur and Wardha will go for lockdown-like restrictions in the Nagpur division as well. In-district the lockout time and the rules and regulations vary. Even as the division of Amravati is smaller in area and population compared to the division of Nagpur, it represents 55.22% of the total Covid-19 cases and 77% of deaths in the region.
Rural areas of the districts of Buldhana, Washim, Amravati and Yavatmal have seen a sudden rise in the number of cases after unlock-I due to people coming back from other locations. Since all these districts have started using rapid antigen tests, the number of cases in the last 10 days has risen significantly.
