A delegation led by Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, Germany, Dr Frank Metro, met with Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe on Thursday (6th). During this time, the Commissioners discussed the launch of the ‘Public Bike System’ project under ‘Non-Vehicle Transport System’ in Kallstru town in Nagpur city.
The delegation included Kalstru’s Head of Innovation, Networks, International Relations and Smarter City Economic Development, Rauf Eichorn, Head of the Department of External Relations and Strategic Marketing, Dr. Eberhard Fischer, Michael Kasher, Director of the Department of Economy Development, Head of Urban Planning Department Dr. Helen Marie-Louise Carman-Woessner, Head of the Department of Economy Development. Martin Lutenschlager, Simon Pligger of the Department of International Relations and Economy Development, Head of the Transport Planning Department. Jan Balthasar Reel, Building Department’s Antz skier was in attendance.Dr. Ramnath Sonawane, CEO of Smart City, Ashish Verma, Coordinator of IUC, Ashish Pandit, Nilbha Singh, Senior IUC Specialist were present on the occasion. Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe informed the delegation about various projects in Nagpur city. Nagpur is the third-largest city in Mumbai after Mumbai and Pune cities.Various projects of central and state government are underway in the city. Nagpur and Kallstru will be working on a ‘vehicle less transport system’, which means that the use of fuel vehicles without the use of fuel vehicles or bicycling systems. Apart from this, the implementation of the public bike system in the city of Kalsruti in Nagpur was also discussed. Environmental projects like Nag river development plan, sewage recycling and recycling project are underway in the city. The Commissioner also believes that the ‘Public Bike System’ project will be an important project. Efforts are underway to make Nagpur City an economical, sustainable and liveable city.
Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe also said that work would be done to establish good relations between both Kallstru and Nagpur cities. Lord Mayor of the city of Kallstru, Dr. Frank Mentro, said that the team of Kallstru is coming to Nagpur for the second time. He said that various measures are being taken to reduce carbon emissions in collaboration with Kalstru. He also spoke about the measures taken to address pollution.
