Lottery ticket for 6 rupees makes Nagpur man a crorepati!
He managed to win a whopping one crore rupees after having tried his luck for four years, just when Nagpur man Prashant Kumar was least hopeful of winning money from a mere six rupees lottery ticket. Forty-year-old Kumar, an employee of the central government in the city, won the huge sum through’ Dear Lottery,’ which is run by the Nagaland government.
Disappointed by constant loss in the lottery game, Kumar decided on January 1 to quit purchasing lottery tickets; he started to avoid visiting lottery ticket stalls. But his fascination with gambling forced him to revisit the stalls. Afterward, one day while on his way to work, unable to spend too much money on tickets, he stopped at a stall and bought a few tickets for just six rupees. However, Kumar would take home around Rs 70 lakhs due to the current 30% tax system applicable.
Surprisingly, 24 hours later online after the results were announced, luck smiled with one crore rupees at Kumar. Dear Lottery held a grand event in Nagpur to congratulate Kumar and the ticket vendor, who was graced by Bollywood actress Bhagyashree (Patwardhan) Dasani.
