Maharashtra buildings to get CCTVs in a phased way: Anil Deshmukh
NAGPUR: CCTV cameras will be installed in Maharashtra buildings in a phased manner, starting with larger cities such as Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur, said State Home Secretary Anil Deshmukh on Friday.
Here he was talking to reporters.
“We’re starting with cities like Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur that already have CCTV cameras. Subsequently, other cities will be phase-wise,” Deshmukh said.
Asked about the phone-tapping issue, Deshmukh said the information had been received that phones not only from Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena leaders, but also from BJP leaders like Eknath Khadse, had been tapped during the Devendra Fadnavis dispensation.
By the way, Khadse reportedly said that he did not think that his phone had been tapped during the previous BJP-Shiv Sena regime.
BJP and Fadnavis routinely denied the phone tapping claims.
