Maharashtra CM says meal for Rs 10 at 50 centers in the state
NAGPUR: As stated in its pre-poll manifesto by Shiv Sena, CM Uddhav Thackeray announced on Saturday, the last day of the winter session, the ‘ Shiv Bhojan (meal) scheme at Rs 10. The scheme will initially be implemented in the state at 50 centres.
At Rs 10, Shiv Sena had vowed to provide the poor with a subsidized nutritious meal. The pledge of the Sena survey, also endorsed by its two allies — Congress and NCP, is part of the ‘ simple minimum system ‘ tri-party.
The scheme will be introduced in the first phase with 1,000 Shiv Bhojan centers offering meal worth Rs 40, at a subsidized rate of Rs 10, whereas the government would bear a grant of Rs 30 per plate.
