Maharashtra State Board’s HSC Exam Kicks Off with Stringent Measures
Commencement of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Examination
HSC Exam: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education commenced the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination (Class XII) on Wednesday. This year, the District Administration has implemented comprehensive precautions to ensure a copy-free examination, mirroring the efforts made in the previous year.
Increased Student Participation and Exam Centers (HSC Exam)
Growing Numbers in Nagpur Division (Maharashtra State Board)
In the Nagpur division alone, a total of 163,017 students are set to write the examination, showcasing a notable increase of 7,104 students compared to last year’s count of 155,913. To accommodate this surge in participation, the number of examination centers has also been elevated from 484 to 498.
Examination Duration and Timings
The HSC examination, commencing on February 21, is scheduled to conclude on March 11. The Board has issued a circular specifying that students with sessions starting at 11 am must be in their respective rooms by 10:30 am. Those scheduled for the 3 pm slot should arrive at the center by 2:30 pm. Importantly, students arriving after the distribution of question papers will not be permitted to enter.
Stringent Measures for a Fair Examination
Vigilant Flying Squads and District Administration’s Role
To ensure a fair and error-free examination, there are 13 flying squads for the Nagpur division, covering six districts, including Chandrapur, Gondia, Bhandara, Wardha, Gadchiroli, and Nagpur. The State Board is resolute in its commitment to conducting the examination impartially. District Administration, under the leadership of Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing these measures.
Consequences for Unfair Means
Dr. Itankar emphasized that any case of mass copying or unfair means during examinations would lead to accountability measures. Center Heads, Head Masters, or teachers found responsible may face disciplinary actions. Photocopy centers within 100 meters of examination centers are barred from functioning to prevent any attempts at unauthorized circulation of question papers.
Psychological Support and Counseling
Addressing Student Well-being
Recognizing the stress that examinations can induce, the Board has appointed counselors to assist students in overcoming negative thoughts. These professionals are available for guidance, with their contact details accessible on the official website of the Board. However, they are not to be contacted for examination-specific details like centers, seating arrangements, or examination systems.
In conclusion, the Maharashtra State Board’s HSC examination is underway with a focus on integrity, security, and student well-being. The increased participation and stringent measures signify the Board’s commitment to conducting a fair and transparent examination process.
