Man is giving his kidney, saving his wife’s life in Nagpur
Nagpur:- Proving what true love is all about, by donating his kidney, a 47-year-old man pulled his wife out of the jaws of death. Over 30 kidney transplants have been observed by the city-based Super Speciality Hospital but it was the first time a man donated his kidney and saved his wife’s life. The name of the husband is Rajesh Jibhkate, born in Bhandara, and a professional farmer.
Rajesh’s aunt, Laxmi, has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease for the past few months, according to records. Both of Laxmi’s kidneys had failed because of the disease and led a poor quality of life. Since June 2019, she has been treated in the Department of Nephrology at the Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) in Nagpur. Kidney transplant had been advised by the SSH doctors. Rajesh then took the lead and shared his desire to donate his kidney to save his beloved wife’s life. Rajesh’s blood group also balanced Laxmi’s blood group and also worked in his favour with other factors.
On Monday, January 6, the SSH doctors performed positive renal transplant surgery. Laxmi can now lead a healthy life after the kidney transplant. Expressing his gratitude, Rajesh said that the kidney transplant was not only for saving his wife but also a mother of three daughters. “I think it was my duty to give this gift to her.”
