MLA Khopde puts off the marriage of her son because of the lockdown
Nagpur updates: Due to the extended lockdown, MLA Krishna Khopde’s son Rohit’s wedding with Chaitali Talmale scheduled for Sunday has been postponed. This was determined on Saturday.
The three-time BJP MLA told on February 20 that Rohit had been associated with Chaitali. “The date of the marriage was set and all the planning was completed. We figured the coronavirus outbreak would be brought under control, and the lockdown on April 15 would be removed, “Khopde said.
For his youngest son, Khopde had arranged a large-scale wedding. “When we heard PM Narendra Modi’s speech on April 14 about lockdown extension until May 3, we immediately decided to postpone the marriage this year to post Diwali. Family of the bride always respected our decision, “he said.
The event was scheduled to take place on 20 April. Family sources said Khopde had intended to send 20,000 wedding invitations, but there were less invitations from the bride’s relatives.
“The families are also sending messages from WhatsApp and calling on our relatives to remind them of the decision,” he said.
