Nagpur: The highest Samai in the world lit to show gratitude to those battling against COVID-19
Nagpur April 6:-The world’s tallest Samai, Pooja Lamp, at Jerryl Lawns, was lit here on Sunday to express appreciation to health care workers and emergency service providers who are risking their lives to battle COVID-19.
City dwellers saw lighting candles and diyas to pay tribute to health care staff, sanitation workers and emergency service providers.
Citizens in various states of the country on Sunday switched off the lights of their homes and lit earthen lamps, responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘9 p.m., 9-min’ call to defeat the coronavirus in the country.
The number of positive coronavirus cases in the country continues to increase. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is 3,577 with 83 deaths.
