Nagpur’s Antra Mehta first woman fighter pilot from Maharashtra
Nagpur:- Nagpurian flying officer Antra Mehta with the Indian Air Force has become Maharashtra’s first woman fighter pilot and tenth overall. She graduated from Mount Carmel High School and obtained her degree in engineering from Sri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College. A basketball player at the national level, Antra always aspired to join the IAF.
She had been trained at Hyderabad Air Force Academy. She sharpened her skills flying the Pilatus PC7 and then flew Kiran MK 1 aircraft for stage two at the Fighter Training School. Hyderabad held a joint passing-out parade (with other branches). Advanced training for Antra will continue at Bidar and Kalaikonda Air Force Station. She is giving parents Punam and Ravi Mehta and sister Deepshika the credit for their success.
