NMC is building its 20th Urban Primary Health Centre
Nagpur: Together with Tata Trusts, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has established the 20th Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC) under the National Urban Health Mission of the central government at Nara, North Nagpur. Mayor Sandip Joshi has inaugurated UPHC on Thursday at a workshop.
Former MLA Dr. Milind Mane, chairman of NMC Health Advisory Committee Virendra Kukreja, vice-president of Rashtriya Sindhi Bhasha Vikas Parishad Ghanshyam Kukreja, chairman of NMC Mangalwari Zone Gargi Chopra, chairman of NMC tax advisory committee Mahendra Dhanvijay, corporates and officials attended.
NMC Additional Assistant Health Officer Dr. Vijay Joshi, Dr. Rajesh Bhure, Laxman Shinde, Gokul Hingwe from Tata Trusts and their teams, under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, Medical Officer Dr. Bhavna Sonkusre, Health Department Director at Tata Trusts Shrinivas Hundi and Project Coordinator Amar Navkar, made efforts to develop UPHC.
UPHC also opened its TB screening and guidance center.The UPHC will remain open from 8 am to 2 pm Monday through Saturday. Patients may receive facilities such as OPD services, pregnancy check-up, pediatric therapy, family planning counseling, vaccines, RTI and STI counseling, leprosy, epilepsy and asthma diagnosis and treatment, diabetes, vector-borne disease diagnosis, and treatment, etc.
The NMC in partnership with Tata Trusts provides patients with 59 types of blood tests safe. The UPHCs are connected to the state-of-the-art pathology laboratory established at Sadar by Tata Trusts. A Tata Trust representative gathers samples from UPHCs, and reports are uploaded online that are available to all centers.
At UPHC, Tata Trusts supplied laptops, printers, equipment, air conditioners, cabins etc. Also, both doctors and staff received training from Tata Trusts.
