NMC Strict on People Posting False Messages on Social Media
Nagpur:- In the case of false messages circulating on social media about the spread of the virus, the civic body in the town seems to be very strict. As mentioned, in the name of NMC chief Mr. Tukaram Mundhe, false news about Nag river being clean in the city was circulated over social media. According to sources, the fake message first appeared on 23 April with the NMC chief’s name informing the same.
The message came in the form of memes generated on NMC claiming that the low rate of contamination has made the city’s sewage water potable to everyone. It further said the NMC’s supply water will, therefore, be supplied from the city’s Nag River. On the other hand, when this message reached the NMC and its president, everyone found it to be fake news because none of those decisions were taken in the city to supply water from the Nag river as it is still polluted.
And NMC was swift to file a complaint against the man who posted this message to the Police on social media. According to sources, the complaint has been recorded at Sadar Police Stations against this fake news message with different parts of the IPC. The Police have earlier warned people not to spread the fake news on social media. They had said they would seriously punish anyone who indulges in the same. Stay tuned only with us to learn more about them, and others.
