NMC to drop SIS to ticket Aapli Bus
Nagpur:- Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) transport department has decided to discontinue the Security and Intelligence Services (SIS) one of Aapli Bus operators’ ticketing agencies due to poor results.
“The ticketing agency’s contract ended on July 30 and the department will replace SIS with the lowest bidder, the Unity Security Force, and Training Institute,” Transport Committee Chair Narendra Borkar told.
Two ticketing agencies SIS and Unity Security Force were approved by the NMC. SIS was to have 242 drivers and Unity 751, and the two agencies had to run 380 buses together. The organization has struggled to allocate sufficient numbers of drivers commensurate with the number of scheduled services over the past few months, undermining the city bus service’s smooth operations. Every month, the NMC paid both agencies about Rs1 Crore.
He called on the conductors of SIS to deposit the electronic ticketing machines with the NMC. He also said all the conductors under the new dispensation should be inducted.
