No new positive case in Vidarbha reported
Nagpur: No positive case has been registered in Vidarbha since 16 March, while Maharashtra recorded 12 new Covid-19 patients on Saturday. There are seven positive patients in the area, as on Saturday, four in Nagpur and three in Yavatmal.
A Yavatmal resident with a travel history to Congo was positively checked on Saturday in Mumbai. This patient was admitted to Mumbai. Since he is a Yavatmal resident, his name has been added by the government to the list of Yavatmal patients.
On Saturday, Nagpur reported no new positive patient. The four patients treated in government hospitals are rapidly recovering.
In the first batch, eight samples were checked at the IGGMCH laboratory on Saturday. Those include Gadchiroli, Akola, and GMCH and IGGMCH. They are two. All eight have been negatively checked.
The second lot consisted of 15 samples from all over Vidarbha. Eight of these were GMCH, three IGGMCH, two Gadchiroli, three Sewagram and one Bhandara. GMCH Yavatmal has also submitted seventh-day samples of two admitted patients. The 15 samples were checked on Saturday and the tests on Sunday were expected.
GMCH sources confirmed that four new offenders arrived on Saturday at the hospital. There was a 19-year-old girl who had travelled through London history. She returned on 16 March with the last 10 days of sore throat. One suspect is a 22-year-old man who returned on March 5 from Thailand. He has a sore throat, cough and cold.
On Saturday, two male offenders, 38 and 31 respectively, were admitted to GMCH. They are in close touch with supportive GMCH patients. They have been sent to IGGMCH for testing and reports are awaited.
In Yavatmal in the last two days, two new suspects were admitted to the isolation facility. According to M Devendra Singh, District Collector, one was admitted on Saturday and one on Friday. Singh said, “Their swab samples were sent to IGGMCH, Nagpur.”
Four students with travel experience from Bangkok submitted their swab samples on Friday in Akola. The samples were sent to Nagpur and the results are awaited.
