Opticians to today’s shutters open
Nagpur:- Those who use specs can no longer be afraid of being left with a disability if their glasses break during the lockdown. From Monday opticians decided to start their shops.
Although the opticians were allowed to remain open after an order was issued on April 13, members of the association had decided to keep the outlets shut. “Now as calls for the repair of damaged specs or the replacement of disposable contact lenses increased, it was agreed to open the shops,” Vidarbha Opticians Association president Dinesh Chabra said.
Chabra said the town has 200 unusual outlets. “When we approached the NMC, we were informed that there was no need for fresh order and that the outlets could be opened immediately,” he said. On Sunday the shops were sanitized so the business can start from Monday onwards, he said.
However, services such as eye tests will not be offered at the outlets as social distancing and other safety protocols have to be maintained.
