Rajasthan Royals start preparations for IPL with a camp in Nagpur
Rajasthan Royals started their preparations with a camp at Nagpur for the 13th edition of the IPL. The camp is held in Talegaon, Nagpur, at the Royal Institute of Sport. The institute is an exclusive Royals facility in Nagpur which hosts some of the best all-round training and development infrastructure. Following their 3 day camp in Guwahati, with hotter weather in Nagpur and varied pitches, the camp is being used to begin the team’s preparations.
The team’s training camp in Nagpur includes Robin Uthappa, Anuj Rawat, Mayank Markande, Akash Singh who were part of the camp at Guwahati. They’re joined by other Royals squad Indian players including Varun Aaron, Sanju Samson, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The camp runs from March 2nd to 7th, with the players continuing their preparation and conditioning under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff of the Rajasthan Royals.
The coaches should prepare the players in a way that matches the standards expected ahead of a long IPL season. There will be an additional emphasis on technical skills and developing new shots and balls before the season starts. Royals getting closer to having full squad in camp Speaking of the camp, Zubin Bharucha, Rajasthan Royals ‘ Head of Cricket said, “The Nagpur camp is a great opportunity for us to use our in-house facilities and get some intense training under our belts.
For this camp in Nagpur, we are seeing more players joining us, and thus getting closer to having our full squad with us. With the approaching IPL, our goal is to be ready to balance and cover all aspects of our game through this camp.
The Nagpur camp also sees four Assam Cricket Association net bowlers moving to Nagpur, all of whom were part of the Guwahati camp. These Assam bowlers will have the opportunity to learn and develop their skills during the camp, and will also have the opportunity to interact with Rajasthan Royals ‘ coaching team for constant feedback.
“Jake Lush McCrum, Rajasthan Royals ‘ COO spoke on the selection of these bowlers. He said, “We are always trying to do something. Our team’s dream is to find new talent, grow them and give them a platform, and I’m really glad our coaching staff found these four bowlers from Assam. The camp in Nagpur will see them get some good experience and learn a lot from our coaches and our squad players.
We hope this camp will provide an opportunity for these bowlers to develop and shape a quality core of Assam bowlers for the future. At Rajasthan Royals, we hope to provide a forum for many such cricketers from the Northeast and the rest of the country to develop, perform and express themselves.
“Ranjit Barthakur, Rajasthan Royals ‘ Executive Chairman said,” We are working towards our One India One Cricket vision and starting with the popularization of the Northeast cricket game, we are pleased to have found talent from our One India One Cricket vision.
We are hopeful as we go along, we are able to scout more such talent from other parts of Northeast, Rajasthan and other states to help grow a pool of potential cricket stars.” “We are also very hopeful that the Rajasthan Cricket Association will come with us to build an environment where aspiring cricketers from all parts of India can travel through Rajasthan and Northeast to various facilities.
