Rajasthan Royals starts preparations for IPL 2020 in Nagpur
NAGPUR: Rajasthan Royals will hold an Indian Premier League (IPL) training camp in Nagpur as they begin their preparations for the 13th season. The training takes place in Talegaon, Nagpur, at the Royal Institute of Sport. Varun Aaron, Sanju Samson, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are part of the team, which also includes players such as Robin Uthappa, Anuj Rawat, Mayank Markande, and Akash Singh, who were among those at the Guwahati camp prior.
The camp runs from March 2-7, with players continuing their preparation and conditioning under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff from the Rajasthan Royals. A further emphasis will be on technical skills and the development of new shots and deliveries before the season starts.
“The Nagpur camp is a great opportunity for us to use our facilities at home and get some intense training under our belts,” said Zubin Bharucha, Rajasthan Royals ‘ Head of Cricket. “We are seeing more players joining us for this camp in Nagpur and thus getting closer to having our full squad with us. With the IPL approaching, our aim is to be ready to match and cover all facets of our game through this camp.
“The Nagpur camp also sees four net bowlers from the Assam Cricket Association heading to Nagpur, who was also part of the Guwahati camp. Such Assam bowlers will have the opportunity during the camp to learn and develop their skills, and will also have the opportunity to interact with the Rajasthan Royals coaching team for constant feedback.
The selection of those bowlers was addressed by Jake Lush McCrum, COO at Rajasthan Royals. He said, “It’s something we’re always trying to do. Finding new talent, improving them, and providing them with a forum is a dream of our team, and I’m really happy that our coaching staff has found these four Assam bowlers. Nagpur camp will see them gain some good experience and learn a lot from our coaches and players in our squad.
