Presently, SECR Nagpur operates only a football ground at Motibagh, which, despite fostering a successful football team, has not been sufficient to cater to other sports, particularly cricket—a game with immense following and participation potential in India.

The ground will be secured with a boundary wall, and four wide protective screens will be installed to ensure that external disruptions are minimized during matches and practice sessions.

Water-Efficient Grass Maintenance and Long-Term Vision
To maintain lush green outfields regardless of seasonal variations, a sprinkler irrigation system will be embedded into the turf management strategy. As per Aniruddha Sarwate from the Sports Cell, the goal is to complete the cricket ground before March, aligning with the onset of summer to begin early practice sessions. The project is currently in the planning stage, with tender documentation in progress.
