Sena’s Aaditya Thackeray files Worli’s nomination
Mumbai: Aaditya Thackeray, the Shiv Sena’s true’ crown prince,’ submitted his nomination documents for the October 21 Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Worli Assembly constituency in Mumbai on Thursday.
Before filing his nomination documents, Aaditya prayed at his family home’ Matoshri’ in Bandra in front of a portrait of his grandpa and Sena founding patriarch the late Bal Thackeray.
In the meantime, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and a member of Sena’s governing party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, also received a phone call of best wishes.
The 29-year-old then walked out to create history by becoming the first Thackeray family member to discard the’ remote control’ and choose to establish a direct connection with the public by entering into the electoral arena. In a procession from his home to Worli, Aaditya was followed by an enormous crowd in a display of strength appropriate to the momentous occasion.
His beaming parents Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and Mom Rashmi welcomed him at the election office, At Thursday’s roadshow, Sena employees held posters with pictures of Aaditya, his dad Uddhav and late grandpa, walking their way through the Worli region comprising some of South Central Mumbai’s poshest and poorest towns.
