Nagpur/Amravati/Chandrapur/ Wardha/Yavatmal: On Wednesday, seven deaths had been reported from five districts taking the Covid-19 toll to 225 in Vidarbha. With 294 fresh cases , the total cases of infection inched at 7,930 closer to the 8,000-mark. Under lockdown till the 21st of July, Buldhana saw a record one-day spike of 69 positive cases that took her tally to 625. Among the 17 new cases in Gadchiroli, 15 are CRPF jawans and two civilians.
The only districts posting single-digit Covid cases on Wednesday were Wardha (1), Bhandara (6), Gondia (3), and Chandrapur (9).
On Tuesday a daily wager of 30 years hanged himself in Navin Nagar in Nagpur. His body was moved to IGGMCH where the sample tested positively. A 63-year-old resident of Yavatmal, who was admitted to GMCH in serious condition on July 14 and tested positive on Wednesday, passed away too. Covid’s deaths at Yavatmal included a man from Tirupati Nagar, 41, and a man from Digras, 61.
