‘Take an oral test learner’s license.
Nagpur: Amid the fear of coronavirus, Shekhar Channe, Transport Commissioner, provided instructions that he take an oral student license examination and scrapped a computerized exam. The Channe notification also specifies that the students ‘ license check limit will be decreased by 10% by 31 March.
According to the notice given on 17 March, the Department reset all appointments for the student license test booked until 31 March and up to next month. The department will take its permanent driving test for those with LLs expiry this month, while other slots for a permanent driving license check are also rescheduled for the upcoming month.
Published that all three Regional Transport Offices (RTOs)-, RTO deputy eastern and rural-to conduct driving license testing in confined rooms while educational institutions, hostels and such like had decreed holidays until 31 March, amidst a scare of the coronavirus.
Channe also requested the department to include services such as driving license renewals, car registration, fitness certificate renewal and transportation car licences. The notification demands that services such as property changes, leases, etc. be halted before further notice. Channe also called on the department to stop all camps, especially student driving license camps, until 31 March.
The RTOs were asked to ensure that their respective offices did not rush. Inspectors of motor vehicles were asked to carry out vehicle inspections and other office-related activities with masks.
