PV Sindhu First Indian Girl To Win Gold Medal At The World Badminton Championships.

Indian girl PV Sindhu finally extended her purple patch to the gold medal at the
Basel World Championship. The champion badminton player has beaten
Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara in the world’s singles final of World Badminton
Championship held in Switzerland and become the first Indian to win a gold
medal at the world tournament. In the last two editions, Sindhu has won back
to back silver medals at prestigious tournament and she needed just 38
minutes to crush Okhura 21-7, 21-7.

The Indian champion dedicated her win to her mother as it was also her birthday on the same day. Especially she also thanked her coach Pullela Gopich and his staff for always supporting him. With this victory, finally, shuttler added to her name a complete set of world championships medal with one gold medal, two silver medals, and two bronzes
medal. Sindhu also posted her heartfelt message on Instagram about her
victory. While the nation was celebrating PV Sindhu’s victory, One Indian
athlete took particular pride in the shutter’s victory.

PT Usha also posted an adorable childhood cute picture of little PV Sindhu smiling and sitting on the Usha’s lap in the year 2001, about a year before Payyoli Express retirement from the track. Usha tweeted “The passion and dedication for the sport will always
be rewarded when hard work comes into play. @Pvsindhu1 success will inspire

Sai Praneeth who was also looking for men’s final failed to defeat Kento
Momota of Japan in the semi-finals. He lost 13-21, 8-21 to Japan and finally he
settled for a bronze medal. But Sai Parneeth had already win Jonatan Christie in
their round of eight matches. Through this, he makes sure that India crossed the
quarter’s threshold for the first time in 36 years. In this Year of the decade, India
always won the medals starting from 2011 and Gopichand’s protégés. These
Champions PV Sindhu and Sai Parneeth had assured two more medals one gold
and one bronze this year. You both are gems and made India proud.
