The river also names the town of Nagpur and both of them run down through the civic limits of the region. The agreement to be signed in March on the nag river project loan.

In the third week of March, the loan agreement for the project to mitigate pollution in rivers Nag between Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Economic Affairs Department (DEA) will be signed. Soon afterward, project execution will begin.

DEA Director Avinash Kumar recently held a meeting in which members from the Nagpur River Protection Directorate, the Environmental Department of the Union and Nagpur, Shweta Bannerjee and Mohammed Israel, from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), participated.

The project cost is Rs2,412.64. The core share of the central government is 60%, State 25%, and NMC 15%, respectively.

On The Positive Note:
Every day, quantities of waste discharged into the rivers Nag and Pili (430 MLD). Pollutants are flowing into the Rivers of Kanhan, Wainganga, and Gosikhurd dam. Now it will be less and the water will get better treated.

“Looking at the water, people connect,” except for those on its banks. Yet this is more a waste outlet than anything for them, too. Even the demographics on Sangam temples have changed and include more than one regular class or household in a low-income group.

Now people will connect more with the river & it will again shine and fulfill the water requirement in the time of need. And on the other note sewage will be well planned and the river will also be managed to set an example of a clean city, a green city.
