The initiative, part of the ₹540 crore upgrade package, was virtually launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Jammu on Tuesday. A total of 11 public universities in Maharashtra were selected for the grant, with four receiving ₹100 crore each and the remaining seven, including NU, receiving ₹20 crore. The program envisions empowering public universities and colleges nationwide.

The allocated funds will be directed towards upgrading the Tribal History Museum and Rusa Multi Facility Centre. These facilities will receive state-of-the-art research materials, including advanced equipment such as transmission electron microscopes, confocal microscopes, ultra centrifuges, and more. NU aims to provide students in autonomous departments and various colleges with top-notch resources for research and training.

New Buildings and Modern Facilities
Vice Chancellor Chaudhari shared insights into the ongoing developmental works at NU. The university is set to witness the construction of new buildings, including an examination hall, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Microbiology, Department of Biochemistry, Centre for Excellence, Technology and Energy Park, Museum of Antiquities, and the Nano Technology and Engineering-Semiconductor Department.
